I was infected with windows police pro I think one of my programs removed it.I now have a problem I cant run any programs I can download all I want, but when you try to open it asks for what file to open with. Its will also say app not found on other things i try.I really dont know where to start I cant back up any of my data on to cds. when I try it gets ready to write them but then says insert blank cd when it has one in it.
Its only giving me the option of one of my drives to write them too, so I dont know if computer is picking up on other drive.I do not have windows cd or driver cds I ordered them I should be getting them in a few days. I dont know where to start because i cant open anything. I can surf the internet all I want but no running programs if I try to run in safe mode the programs I get same errors. If I try to reset to previous date I can only get into from hittin f8 in start up when it pops up I dont have any restore dates but todays date. Well I think thats about it what I know anyway. any help?

We Need to check for Rootkits with RootRepeal
  • Download RootRepeal from the following location and save it to your desktop.
  • Extract RootRepeal.exe from the archive (If you did not use the "Direct Download" mirror).
  • Open Posted Image on your desktop.
  • Click the Posted Image tab.
  • Click the Posted Image button.
  • Check all seven boxes: Posted Image
  • Push Ok
  • Check the box for your main system drive (Usually C:), and press Ok.
  • Allow RootRepeal to run a scan of your system. This may take some time.
  • Once the scan completes, push the Posted Image button. Save the log to your desktop, using a distinctive name, such as RootRepeal.txt. Include this report in your next reply, please.

1. Download Win32kDiag from any of the following locations and save it to your Desktop

http://ad13.geekstogo.com/Win32kDiag.exe

http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/rootr.../Win32kDiag.exe

2. Double-click Win32kDiag.exe to run Win32kDiag and let it finish.
3. When it states "Finished! Press any key to exit...", press any key on your keyboard to close the program.
4. Double-click on the Win32kDiag.txt file that is located on your Desktop and post the entire contents of that log as a reply to this topic.

Try renaming Win32kDiag.exe to something else like zztoy.exe or zztoy.scr and see if it will run that way

We can also use this:

We need to create an OTL Report
  • Please download OTL from one of the following mirrors:
  • Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the Posted Image icon on your desktop.
  • Click the "Scan All Users" checkbox.
  • Push the Posted Image button.
  • Two reports will open, copy and paste them in a reply here:
    • OTListIt.txt <-- Will be opened
    • Extra.txt <-- Will be minimized
