I keep getting the windows security popup alert, and windows police pro. I'm not sure if those lead to my next problem. Every time I start up the computer I receive half a dozen error pop-up box this also happens everytime I try to start any applications. For example, if I try to start Rootrepeal, I'll get the error box saying "C:\Documents and Settings\Admin\Desktop\RootRepeal.exe". This happens for any, and all programs I attempt to start. The programs will start, but I always get the errors first. Please help me out. I'd like to point out that my computer is pretty old, I'd say 11'ish years. It runs on XP and has about 300 mbs of ram and is an HP.

Now I know the tagged post says we should use dds.scr to scan for logs, but it doesn't work for me even when I turn off script blocking programs. I searched around the web and have a log done from "Silent Runners", I hope this will suffice. I would also like to add that I cannot seem to install HTJ. Thank you in advance.

Please make sure you disable ALL of your Antivirus/Antispyware/Firewall before running ComboFix.. Please visit HERE if you don't know how.. Please re-enable them back after performing all steps given..

Please download ComboFix by sUBs from HERE or HERE and save it to your Desktop.

During the download, rename Combofix to Combo-Fix as follows:

It is important you rename Combofix during the download, but not after.

**NOTE: If you are using Firefox, make sure that your download settings are as follows:
  • Tools->Options->Main tab
  • Set to "Always ask me where to Save the files".

After that, double-click and run Combo-Fix. Let it finish its job and post the log here

If ComboFix asked you to install Recovery Console, please do so.. It will be your best interest..

Note: DON'T do anything with your computer while ComboFix is running.. Let ComboFix finishes its job..

Keep calm, make it simple, use your brain, don't freak out, and you'll be just fine..
