The M/S update to stop certain features of 'Autoplay' KB971029 Found Here does not work, at least on my PC.

I'm not exactly sure what you'd like us here in networking to do. If an update caused it, and the fix doesn't fix it...then uninstall the update.

I've had similar experience. I've been able to mitigate this with a few autoplay wizards I found here (YMMV):
