Hello!

I'm struggling to remove pretty nasty malware that first presented itself as PC Antispyware 2010 and has now morphed into Antivirus Protector (or Protection) 2010.

I get numerous pop-ups telling me I have to download the program to protect myself from online viruses and it does a fake scan showing me files it claims are infected.

At first I downloaded combofix and thought it ran successfully but now I'm having trouble running it. It says beep.sys is infected and then when the computer restarts there is Antivirus protector 2010 waiting to flash signs to me.

It has also disabled my firewall.

Any help you are able to provide is highly appreciated!

Attach.txt and ark.txt are attached to this message! Thank you

I'm attaching versions of attach.txt and ark.txt that were created when I was NOT in safe mode.

Thanks again for your help.

Hello!

Thank you for responding Syler. :(

I got a little desperate three days ago and found Malwarebytes that I ran on my computer that seems to have gotten rid of the problem.

Thank you!
