This is a Toshiba a135-s2356 notebook. It was not dropped, but in the process of catching it from hitting the floor the screen was slammed shut causing it to lose video. I connected an external monitor through the notebooks external vga imput and get no video as well. I changed the memory, but this wasn't it. How can I tell it is the LCD screen which needs replacement?

REmember:

I tried another memory
tested external vga
No boot, no video

I appreciate your input on this, thank you

Specs show that this laptop comes with an ATI graphics card. Have you checked it, possibly removing and reseating? I've never done this with a laptop, probably have to pretty much disassemble the whole thing, maybe someone else can help.

I had a Toshiba Satellite before and remember having a removable graphics card. I will do that. Thanks for pointing that out
