Crazy question...
I have this ten-year old PC and I would like to add a front connectivity panel with some USB, Firewire, and audio (in/out) ports.
The motherboard does not have any port headers built in for such a task, so I am looking for a PCI expansion card that has internal port _headers_. The idea being that then I would use a Silverstone FP32 I/O bay kit and plug in all its cables via the internal port headers of the expansion card.

The expansion cards that I have been able to find do have USB/Firewire internal ports but they are standard ports (i.e. like those that are normally present on the outside of the rear panel of a modern PC). What I need is an expansion card that has USB/Firewire/Audio port _headers_ because the Silverstone FP32 does not have standard USB/Firewire connectors attached to its cabling...

If anybody knows where I could find such PCI cards, or if you have a better suggestion...

(PS: I know that I could just solve the problem by purchasing USB/Firewire/Audio cable extensions and plug them in into the rear external USB/Firewire/Audio ports of my PC... But I would like to see if what I have described above can be done and avoid yet more external cables lying around...)

Thanks.

I was hoping that there would be an add-on card with both USB and Firewire 9-pin connectors... I looked on Newegg and everywhere else I could think of but apparently such card does not exist.

The FRONTX solution that both you and garmanma are suggesting is a good one!
