Ever since I got this laptop for school, the L/R arrow keys, delete/ Sys Rq and vertical line/ forwardslash keys DO NOT WORK. It is beginning to seriously annoy me, and I am contemplating smashing this piece of $#*% with a hammer! Thank you in advance for your help.

Since this laptop seems to have debuted 3 years ago...I have to assume that you acquired it from a previous owner/user.

That being the case...the fact that keys don't work properly...could be a mechanical malfunction, could be a touchpad malfunction...could be drivers, could be crumbs/dirt in the keys...and so on.

Has the laptop ever performed properly, all functions?

Do not know. There is crap under all the keys, some from me and some from the grubby little person before me... But all of them but the keys I specified work.

Help...should start at home, how about cleaning the keyboard as a preliminary step?

We can't do that for you.

Louis
