I have had a google redirecting virus for awhile, when I click a link in google it redirects to one site and then quickly to another. I fixxed it once like at the beginning of the year but I happened to pick it up again and this time just left it alone for like the last 2mo. Well the other night I was on google and clicked a link and it redirected me and I get a pop-up from my anti virus that I have a trojan. No biggy I run my antivirus and remove it.
Still getting redirected however on google and none of my scans are picking up the redirecting virus. It does it for both IE and Firefox.
So anyways I run antivirus again a few mins later and the trojan is back. So I figured ghost file, so made sure system restore was off and this time reran the scan and poof the scan shuts off after 2 hours. I was kinda like WTH?
I tried rerunning (computer associates) it shuts down again, I tried spybot it shut down, I tried adware it shut down, so I was like crap and I downloaded Hijack this and it shut down when it just started. So now I can't even run a scan to see what I have on my computer. When I click the links to the antivirus programs they won't open and I get a error message saying, "windows cannot access the specified device path or file" except adware it starts to boot up and then says "connection disabled" or something. When I tried to load MSN instant messenger it will load and connect then shut off.
I've tried loading into safemode and I still get errors and then scans still get shut down.
Is the virus(es) disabling my removal tools?
