Help! I'm being held hostage.

When I go to a page, words that normally dont have links to them get links to them, that point to something like this:

java script:var empty2 = window.open('http://66.216.114.15/SearchRedirect.aspx?

I've ran Ad-Aware (Updated) Spybot Search-Destroy and they haven't found anything that fixes it. Is anyone else been hit with this? Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanx in advance.

(moderator edit: moved log to forum for team analysis.jgweed)

Welcome EzBee to Bleeping Computer.

We need to disable your Microsoft AntiSpyware Real-time Protection as it may interfere with the fixes that we need to make.

Open Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Click on Tools, Settings.
In the left pane, click on Real-time Protection.
Under Startup Options uncheck Enable the Microsoft AntiSpyware Security Agents on startup (recommended).
Under Real-time spyware threat protection uncheck Enable real-time spyware threat protection (recommended).
After you uncheck these, click on the Save button and close Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Right click on the Microsoft AntiSpyware icon on the taskbar and select Shutdown Microsoft AntiSpyware.
Reverse the process when you’ve carried out the advise.

***

Go to start - configuration - software panel
set it to classic view
Open Java console
Clean out the temp file and the cache
Close Java.

***

If you have not already installed Ad-Aware SE 1.06, please download and install AdAware SE 1.06.
Check Here on how setup and use it - please make sure you update it first.
Don't run it yet.

***

Please download and unzip
About:Buster to a folder. Inside the folder is a readme file that has instructions on the use of the program.
AboutBuster MUST be updated before you use it.
Start AboutBuster, click the update button, check for update, drag the box to the side and hit download updates, close the box. Don't run it yet.

***

Download CleanUp!.
If that doesn’t work, use this link.
Open Cleanup! by double-clicking the icon on your desktop (or from the Start > All Programs menu). Set the program up as follows:
*Click "Options..."
*Move the arrow down to "Custom CleanUp!"
*Put a check next to the following:
  • Empty Recycle Bins
  • Delete Cookies
  • Delete Prefetch files
  • Scan local drives for temporary files
  • Cleanup! All Users
Click OK
Press the CleanUp! button to start the program.

Once it's done, reboot in safe mode (this will remove files that were in use during the scan):

1) Restart your computer
2) After hearing your computer beep once during startup, but before the Windows icon appears, press F8.
3) Instead of Windows loading as normal, a menu should appear
4) Select the first option, to run Windows in Safe Mode.

For additional help in booting into Safe Mode, see the following site:
http://www.pchell.com/support/safemode.shtml

***

Run AboutBuster . This will scan your computer for the bad files and delete them.
Please run About:Buster:
  • Click Start and then OK to allow AboutBuster to scan for Alternate Data Streams.
  • Click Yes to allow it to shutdown explorer.exe.
  • It will begin to check your computer for malicious files. If it asks if you would like to do a second pass, allow it to do so.
  • When it has finished, click Save Log. Make sure you save it as I may need a copy of it later.
  • Reboot your computer into safe mode again
Run about:buster again following the same instructions as above, this time without the restart at the end.

Rerun it till you have a clean result.

***

Now run a full scan using AdAware SE 1.06
Remove all items found in red.

***

Reboot back to normal mode. Please post me the log from About:Buster and a fresh HijackThis log.
