when do you use the PPPOE feature in your router??

I often see an PPPOE option in router config but I never need to use it. So when do you use that option?

PPPoE =Point-to-Point Protocol over Ethernet.

Most times it is used with DSL where you have to make the connection with a username and password. Most modern DSL modems also have a DHCP server in them as well along with extra ports like a router. Most people choose to buy a router and turn off these features in their modem. They set the modem up to make that connection for them.
