I have a Pop-Up Problem/Random Icon Problems

I have random pop-ups that appear even when 2 of my pop-up blockers are running. 0dp.com is one that gets really annoying; it pops up every 5 minutes. Also, occasionally, I would leave my computer on and when I would come back to it hours later, about 40 pop-ups have appeared. Ad-Aware and Norton Antivirus can't find these programs causing these pop-ups to appear. And my computer runs really slow. And random Icons pop up on my desktop. How do I get rid of this stuff?

Hello,

Really nasty log you have in here. We need to perform this in several steps, because some of them needs a special treatment

It's better to print out the next instructions or save it in notepad, because you also have to work in safe mode without networking support, so this page wouldn't be available then.
It is also important you don't miss a step and perform everything in the right order!!

* Download and install CCleaner
Do not use it yet.

* Please set your system to show all files; please see here if you're unsure how to do this.

First of all, I want you to download and install another browser, because for the moment I strongly suggest NOT to use Internet Explorer, because everytime you open it, new malware is getting downloaded.
So, I want you to use Firefox instead to browse the web.
When your system is clean again, you can use your IE again.
Here you can find firefox to download: http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/

* Update your ewido!

* If you have not already installed Ad-Aware SE 1.06, follow these download and setup instructions, otherwise, check for updates:
Ad-Aware SE Setup
Don't run it yet!

* Download LQfix.zip
Unzip it and save it to your desktop, don't use it yet!!

* Start HijackThis, close all open windows leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following:

Ok.. looking much better..

* Start HijackThis, close all open windows leaving only HijackThis running. Place a check against each of the following:

O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [r29g36S] sclpinst.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [osuhsf] C:\WINDOWS\system32\auqcsu\osuhsf.exe
O20 - Winlogon Notify: URL - C:\WINDOWS\system32\bkowseui.dll

* Click on Fix Checked when finished and exit HijackThis.

* Using Windows Explorer, locate the following file/folder and delete them:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\sclpinst.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\auqcsu <==folder

Download L2mfix from one of these two locations:

http://www.atribune.org/downloads/l2mfix.exe
http://www.downloads.subratam.org/l2mfix.exe

Save the file to your desktop and double click l2mfix.exe. Click the Install button to extract the files and follow the prompts, then open the newly added l2mfix folder on your desktop. Double click l2mfix.bat and select option #1 for Run Find Log by typing 1 and then pressing enter. This will scan your computer and it may appear nothing is happening, then, after a minute or 2, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it into this thread.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run option #2 OR any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Good.

Close any programs you have open since this step requires a reboot.

From the l2mfix folder on your desktop, double click l2mfix.bat and select option #2 for Run Fix by typing 2 and then pressing enter, then press any key to reboot your computer. After a reboot, your desktop and icons will appear, then disappear (this is normal). L2mfix will continue to scan your computer and when it's finished, notepad will open with a log. Copy the contents of that log and paste it back into this thread, along with a new hijackthis log.

IMPORTANT: Do NOT run any other files in the l2mfix folder until you are asked to do so!

Great! Almost there.
Now we need to delete some files..

Better to do this in safe mode, because it could be possible that some files are still in use and wont get deleted in normal mode.

Boot in safe mode!!

Delete next files:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\sew.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\uwin32updt.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system32\uninst.exe
C:\WINDOWS\system\QBUninstaller.exe
C:\WINDOWS\inf\polall1r.inf
C:\WINDOWS\unstall.exe
C:\Program Files\Windows Media Player\wmplayer.exe.tmp
C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\YPSR\Quarantine <== delete everything present in this folder. Don't delete the folder itself!
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\OWNER\APPLICATION DATA\Sskknwrd.dll
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\ide21201.vxd
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\stlb2.xml
C:\WINDOWS\hisistheurls.exe
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\winupdt.bin
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\lmdv.bin
C:\WINDOWS\usta33.ini
C:\WINDOWS\180ax_gdf.dat
C:\WINDOWS\cfgmgr52.ini

Delete next folders:

C:\PROGRAM FILES\SearchRelevancy
C:\Program Files\FwBarTemp
C:\WINDOWS\bundles
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ALL USERS\APPLICATION DATA\VBouncer
C:\PROGRAM FILES\QuickSearch
C:\PROGRAM FILES\FwBarTemp
C:\PROGRAM FILES\joystick networks
C:\PROGRAM FILES\Aprps
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\vmss
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\cache32_rtneg2
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\Newmsrdk
C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\cache32dsrf4535dfs
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ALL USERS\APPLICATION DATA\AdDestroyer
C:\DOCUMENTS AND SETTINGS\ALL USERS\APPLICATION DATA\vmss

Go to start > run and type: regsvr32 /u occache.dll
Click OK.

Delete next files:

C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\m67m.inf
C:\WINDOWS\Downloaded Program Files\actsetup.dll

Go to start > run and type: regsvr32 occache.dll

Run Ccleaner again. Click run Cleaner.

Then.. reboot back to normal mode.

Open notepad and copy and paste next bold in it:
(don't forget to copy and paste REGEDIT4)

REGEDIT4

[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENTVERSION\MODULEUSAGE\C:/WINDOWS/DOWNLOADED PROGRAM FILES/M67M.OCX]

Save this as fix.reg Choose to save as *all files and place it on your desktop.
This is how the regfix must look after you created it: Posted Image
Doubleclick on it and when it asks you if you want to merge the contents to the registry, click yes/ok.

Reboot again and tell me how things are running now.

I see a clean log. Well done.

Perform a full scan with an updated Adaware SE and/or Spybot S&D to get rid of the leftovers.
If you don't have those programs yet, you can find the downloadlocations in my sig.

To keep this clean in the future, I would suggest the following things:

Install Spywareblaster
SpywareBlaster doesn`t scan and clean for so-called spyware, but prevents it from being installed in the first place. It blocks the popular spyware ActiveX controls, and also prevents the installation of any of them via a webpage.

Avoid illegal sites, because that's where most malware is present.

Let your antispywarescanner(s) scan frequently and don't forget to update before.

And I do suggest you perform an online virusscan once in a while. (Kaspersky online and/or Bitdefender). Because what one virusscanner can't find another one maybe can.
Also make sure that your virusscanner, the one that is installed on your system is always up to date!

Make sure your windows has the latest updates: http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com/
