windows protection virus

so im affraid i have the windows protections virus. It has disabled every anti-virus program ive tried and will not let me do any type of online scans. if i follow the instructions on this site to install certain programs they will not work. Hijack this does dont work. I think i've tried all the options i can find and nothing is working. i'm running xp. and i need to fix the computer asap..ive been trying for several days now..please help
