setup is being restarted

When i start my box with xp pro, it just keeps rebooting. i can get into the boot menu or setup but any changes i make or attempts to enter computer ie dos prompt, safe mode all go back to a rebooting cycle. can you help me.

Do you have your operating system disk?

Hold F8 when your computer is starting.... when you get to the "advanced start up" screen, select: "Disable automatic restart on system failure"

(If you are a good little boy and have Service Pack 2) :thumbsup:

I had a similar problem recently and it was an incorrect processor speed in the bios :thumbsup: might be woth checking
