AVG Anti-virus seems to be all right getting updates. However, it pops up virus messages very often. Most viruses are not healable or movable.
I downloaded Sophos Anti-Rootkit and ran it. It found more than 1700 items, two hidden registry keys but not removable, and all the rest were unknown hidden files which were removable but clean-up not recommended for the files. So I left them alone. Below are the two hidden registries.
I did a Disk Cleanup. I deleted all the entries in there except the Office Setup Files. I installed the Avira Rootkit Detection. When I ran it I got a message "Error loading drivers: Insufficient rights!" even though I had logged in as an Administrator.
I then tried the updates of all the anti-spyware programs in safe mode but all failed still. I couldn't find or start Windows Defender this time though.
