Is this the guide that you are trying to follow?

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-remo...irus-protection

If I were you I would try to restart the computer in safe mode and try to run MBAM from there. It may or may not work. I STRONGLY suggest that this symptom may be just the tip of the iceberg and may require much more than just MBAM alone.

If you still have problems I would suggest reading this guide in preparation for posting in the HighJack This Forum...(just skip the step for opening up a new account,,,You already have one)....The experts there are trained in Malware removal and should be able to guide you in cleaning up your problem.

Does this look like an OldGrumpyBastard or what?

Try renaming mbam-setup.exe to something else like notepad.scr and then after installation, renaming mbam.exe in C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware to something else.
