I have just installed an Asus A7N8X mother board using existing HDD and Ram
It will not run using existing operating system (XP Pro) On attempting -to re install XP I get to "To setup Windows press enter" and the system shuts down-help would be greatly appreciated

Are you attempting a clean install?

How? From CD, from a restore/recovery partition...what?

The settings and drivers for the old board (which are on the hard drive) do not match the settings for the new drive, so I would not expect the system to boot from the new board or run XP correctly.
