how to restore a dell

I have a friends laptop and he would like to do a system restore to bring the computer back to it's factory setting, however I have never worked with a dell before and so I am lost. can anyone help me please.

also it is a dell inspiron 600m

Assuming it has a restore partition and he was not given restore CDs, these INSTRUCTIONS should do the trick.
