I had a bolt of lighting hit our house, the other morning. I was on a surge protector... But it fried a lot of gear. The only thing it didn't get was computer. But I was hooked up to a router. Now I can't get computer to internet. Light doesn't come on at plug, on computer. Router is history. I'm straight from windstream modem to computer via ethernet cable. I went to live chat and rep. said to reinstall something. He wrote that it was okay(ethernet) connection. He had me look at some things, and said it needed to reinstall something. As I was trying to copy it, he signed off and lost instructions!!!! I just need to find out what to reinstall....and where!!!
What he had me do was type "cmnd" at the run box and then typed in 127.0.0.1., and he wrote it was okay, from the feed back I gave him.
Sorry for being drawn out just trying to get info right.
I need some help!!!! :flowers:  :trumpet:

I was able to get back in touch with tech. I had a few details wrong. It was cmd at "run"! And Ping 127.0.0.1. I still don't have a modem or Ethernet!!! So I guess it is fried. So off o shop it will go. I just wanted to correct this and see if anybody else can help. I'm having no luck!!!
