A few days ago I mistakenly downloaded a sidebar for vista, It instantly tried to eat my computer. My itunes stopped working, pop-ups, internet crashes, etc. I managed to rid most of it with Malwarebyte's. My main existing problem is that search engines keep redirecting me to random sites. I have seen this problem posted before, but I know all cases are different, and didn't want to kick my pc when she was down. It also redirects me ironically to a specific anti-virus website, that appears to be finding trojans, spyware, etc. Its various popups make it very hard and frustrating to exit. I will post the HIJACKTHIS. I got text logs for one of the other two programs, but the rootrepeal was unable to work. I need to know what is wrong with my google redirecting shananigans, and (on a sidenote) My itunes still wont play any music. I can open it, push play. It says play, but nothing. I have done everything my feeble brain knows how, so now I turn to professional online wisdoms. Any help is much appreciated, and I am camping by the warm light of my computer, and will respond swiftly.

  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.
