I've been having trouble the last week or so every time I make a search... it gets redirected to another site. Also, when I try and run an anti-virus scan (McAfee)... the 1st try cancels before running. If I give it a second try, it works.

I've been reading numerous threads on this board (and others) to try and figure it all out.

I've downloaded Malwarebytes but it won't run...

Any help would be appreciated...

Thanks,

J

Hello Briner19 and  to BleepingComputer.

Have you tried the following?

If you have trouble getting Malwarebytes (MBAM) to install, try renaming the installation package to winlogon.exe.

If you have problems getting MBAM to execute after installation, navigate to the folder MBAM installed to and rename mbam.exe to winlogon.exe. Then double click on the file you just renamed to launch the program. Once MBAM is running, make sure you've updated it and then run a Quick Scan.

If you can get a scan run, post the log here for my review. If not, reply back and let me know so I can devise an alternative form of attack.
