When you are trying to install it and your PC freezes feel the top of your case right over the top of your CD drive, also feel the front of the CD drive. Does it feel warm\hot.

Warm is OK. Hot may mean pending total failure of the optical drive.

Of it may be something as simple as a dirty or scratched OS disk.

You deleted all partitions on the hard drive?

You removed all other drives, except for the optical drive you are using to read the CD?

Another question. During the time it seems frozen is there still optical drive or hard drive light activity?

???

Making some assumptions that seem to be safe to make it is looking like the OS disk is damaged or dirty.
