So i'll try to see if any other ideas come up.

Fairly new to Ubuntu, but getting more familiar since the issues with Windows have persisted.
Open Arena runs nicely anyway (free quake III multiplayer).

I've got it all set up dark like a computer should be.
Light is for the characters ... the background should at least be dark if not black.
Paper is white because it does not generate it's own light, and dark ink is more convenient that chalk.
a monitor is a giant light bulb, so it shouldn't be brighter than necessary.

So if you know any other good linux games let me know cause unless I can fix Windows, I'm stuck with only the one for the moment.

One thing to note. Only post once to your topic. If you keep adding, it will only put you back further in the rotation
Good luck
