Microsoft's Support of WinXP Home?

Anybody have any idea how long Microsoft will continue to support WinXP Home Edition? A neighbor wants to instill this version on an old Compaq machine running WinME to make it last longer.

Microsoft will continue to support XP. They're just not selling it anymore.

Thanks, looks like they'll continue to support updates til 08/04/2014. That's if I read that right.
