I'm an unemployed engineer, now fixing computers to try and feed myself. Virus and Malware seem to be a huge problem and the tools that are suppose to protect and clean seem lacking anymore.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Hey Rick,

Sorry to hear that you're out of work! Seems to be the big story these days, I hope it's short lived. However, you've found a great temporary solution, especially if you're going to be working on virus and malware removal because that's about the only thing more rampant than job loss at the moment.

A couple of really useful tools that you can use on a consistent basis, in conjunction with checking this forum and others like it for suggestions, would be:

Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

Super Anti-Spyware

Beyond using those, I would advise you to look at the Spyware Removal page and read threads in the Am I Infected? forum to get help from the experts until you're more familiar with the advanced solutions. Also, there is a discussion forum for different applications and such if you click here that will give you some pointers.

Best of luck!

Regards,
Eric
