It started all of a sudden when I picked up some sort of virus. It would show up as "Advanced Virus Removal" I used Malwarebytes Anti-Malware to remove everything that came up. But it would keep popping up again everyday and I would remove again and again. This last time during reboot, I get this error message "The application or DLL Globalroot\systemroot\system32\Skynetltowulxf.dll is not a valid Windows image. Please check this against your installation disk." The only option is to press OK with each program that loads during startup and any other program I open after bootup.

How do I get rid of this nasty bug? and is it harmful to my computer?

I have included the Hijackthis text log:

Attached File  hijackthis.log   8.62KB   21 downloads

Please help!!!!

Thanks in advance.

Please make sure you disable ALL of your Antivirus/Antispyware/Firewall before running ComboFix.. Please visit HERE if you don't know how.. Please re-enable them back after performing all steps given..

Please download ComboFix by sUBs from HERE or HERE and save it to your Desktop.

During the download, rename Combofix to Combo-Fix as follows:

It is important you rename Combofix during the download, but not after.

**NOTE: If you are using Firefox, make sure that your download settings are as follows:
  • Tools->Options->Main tab
  • Set to "Always ask me where to Save the files".

After that, double-click and run Combo-Fix. Let it finish its job and post the log here

If ComboFix asked you to install Recovery Console, please do so.. It will be your best interest..

Note: DON'T do anything with your computer while ComboFix is running.. Let ComboFix finishes its job..

Keep calm, make it simple, use your brain, don't freak out, and you'll be just fine..

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\software\Classes\Interface\{1D4C8A81-B7AC-460A-8C23-98713C41D6B3}\TypeLib]

3. Save the above as CFScript.txt

4. Then drag the CFScript.txt into ComboFix.exe as depicted in the animation below. This will start ComboFix again.

Computer seems to be very stable, no wierd issues have arised since the ComboFix scan. Which reminds me. Will I be able to uninstall ComboFix from my computer, as well as the ESET Online folder once everything is kosher.

Thanks again for the insight with those articles. I read through all of them. I will spend tomorrow going back through and incorporating some of the suggestions.

My system seems stable. In otherwords, I am happy with the result, no funky behaviour. Speed is fine.

Should I leave the ESET Online Scanner folder on my machine or should I uninstall?

Again Thanks for all your help.

Mike
