I have a Western Digital 320GB IDE drive with XP from my old computer on it, and I put it in a Rocketfish enclosure connected through USB 2.0 to my new computer. It works fine except if I choose it from the boot menu, it returns a Disk Error message. It was on Cable Select when I first installed it, so I changed it to Master, but it made no difference. It still works fine when Vista is running, but I was hoping to be able to boot XP from it. Can this be done? Does it matter where the jumpers are set for any other reason?

Thanks,
Rusty

Negative.

First...the settings and drivers don't reflect the current system.

Second...Windows will not boot from an external drive, it's not designed for such.
