Compac Laptop keyboard issue

SO I have this compac laptop with a wonky keyboard.. Everything was working great... all of a sudden, some characters are being replaced. ie: LOL is now 363

Any ideas?

UPDATE: I can use the keyboard fine when I press and hold the Fn key. I do not want to do this anymore. lol

Have you turned the Numlock on? If yes then turn it off. The usual shortcut to Numlock is Fn + Numlock.
