I do not know why I allowed my viruse software to expire but I did. Now my PC is giving me big problems, I talked to the PC guy at work and he gave me a new virus programe called Avast, this program tries to install but then while its connecting to the internet to finish it always fails to connect. I can't do anything on the internet. He also gave me a program called Ad-Aware. I am running this program now but don't know if it will actually fix my problem. I searched on the internet and found you all. Any help that you could give me would be gratly appriceated. I read all the directions on how to post this infor so I hope I did it correctly.

The viruse that Symantec keeps finding is called Trojan.Brisv.A
Thank you.

Hello yo2you2001,

I see you are running Symantec AntiVirus Corporate Edition which is used by corporations.

In work environments, the IT staff implement specific policies and procedures for the use of computer equipment and related resources.

In fact, most companies will require you to read those policies and sign a statement of understanding. Further, they have procedures in place to deal with infections on the network and do not approve of employees seeking help at an online forum or outside the business office.

If their typical solution is to re-image, then have your supervisor speak to them about taking another approach.

Further, the malware you are dealing with may have already infected the network. The IT Department needs to be advised right away so they can take the appropriate measures.
