HELP Winsock Provider Catalog Problem

Help--winsock Provider Catalog Problem

I had a virus on my computer which was removed with trend micros in safe mode. I now have a winsock provider catalog problem per windows. I have windows xp professional

I've done all of the following to fix the problem:

Combofix, winsockxpfix, malwarebytes, deleted IE8, ad-aware, smith fraudfix, and Cw-shredder. I also followed Microsofts directions on how to determine and recover winsock 2 corruptions my results are below:

I have missing information, how do I add the missing information?

I also ran Hp support and service program and received the following:


Default Outlook Express Mail Not Configured
Default Outlook Express News Not Configured
Internet Explorer Web Proxy Not Configured


Please help, I need to get back online asap.

1. Open Start Menu > Run, type cmd and press Enter. This would open a command prompt window.
2. In the command prompt window type following exactly as shown and press Enter:
netsh winsock reset catalog
3. Then restart your computer

I've done that several times and it doesn't work. I've deleted the winsocks per Microsofts instuctions and that also didn't work.

The message I'm getting is that I don't have internet access. The rest is in my initial post above. I was told about the winsock when I ran Diagnostic with Windows.
