I've been working on this for 3 hours and no success. I installed Auslogics Disk Defrag on my daughter's Dell Inspiron, Vista Home Premium. This program has been on here before, worked fine. After installation, program will not open. Computer hangs, I go to Task Manager, diskdefrag.exe is running about 50% CPU usage, but no program launches. I have to End Process in Task Manager to shut it down.
I have completely uninstalled and reinstalled twice, using downloads from two different sites. Installation process is normal, everything looks good, I use the program on all my computers, but it will not launch on this one. Path location is OK, located in Program Files. I scanned it for malware, nothing there.
I will use another program if I have to, but I hate to let something like this beat me. Seems like a simple problem, but I haven't found the answer yet. Any ideas?

Might not bring a solution, but have you rebooted the computer after installing Auslogics Disk Defrag? Sometimes a reboot can help in such cases.
Since it's Vista, have you tried to run it as admin?

I appreciate the response, but I have tried both of those remedies. This is weird, it acts like the .exe file is corrupt, but I have downloaded from two different sites, same result.
