I've watched this post for a while with no answers, but you'll probably get some soon, since people are getting home now. Some one with HiJack this expertise will be able to help you, but in the meantime try downloading regcleaner.

I've had success in removing software with it when Add/Remove didn't work. See if Spy Sheriff is listed in "uninstall menu" or "software". It has a backup utility so it's hard to screw up.

This may help until a HJT guru sees your post.

Sorry for the edit, but after reading up on Spy Sheriff, I think the above would be a waste of time. I've also scrolled past "Operating Systems" on the site and found a HiJack This forum. I hope I'm not stepping over protocol by suggesting you post there, but moving your post may be a moderator's job and not for me to suggest double posting. If that is the case, I apologize to all. I haven't seen a post moved on this site yet, but have only been here two days.

Randall

If you can't use Ewido, I suggest you post a HijackThis log for examination.
They will be able to walk you through the fix for spy sheriff, on an ME machine.

Read How to post a HijackThis Log.
Please read, and follow, all directions carefully.

Then, run a log, and post it in the HJT forum, at this link. Do not, fix anything, yet.
A member, of the HJT Team, will help you out.
It may take a while to get a response, because the HJT Team are very busy. Please, be patient, these people are volunteers. They will help you out, as soon as possible.

NOTE:
Once you have made the post, please, DO NOT make another post in the HJT forum, until it has been responded to by a member of the HJT Team. The first thing they look for, when looking for logs to reply to, is 0 replies. If you make another post, there will be 1 reply. The team member, glancing over the replies, might assume someone is already helping you out, and will not respond. So, just make your post, and let it sit there, until a team member responds. This way you will be taken care of, in the most timely manner.
