chrome spies on you?

I heard that google can see what you are doing if you are using their browser, is this true? if yes, is there any way to not let them look at what i am doing?

Maybe look at a Chrome alternative:

SRWare Iron

I don't use either browser, but given a choice, I would most definitely choose Iron
