Scanned with Secunia - result ... Adobe Flash Player 10.x (Active Control) needs to be updated.

Tried to use Secunia's 'Solution' icon ... said IE was not my default (true - FF4 is) and was it ok to use. I said OK and IE8 started but hung (with FF not running).

Closed IE8 and entered URL in FF. Updated A FP ... said it was complete.

MS Add/Remove shows I have A FP 10 ActiveX -AND- A FP Plugin.

Is Secunia getting confused? I sure am because after Adobe said the update was complete I scanned again and Secunia had same result (Adobe Flash Player 10.x (Active Control) needs to be updated).

Usually using the direct link from Secunia works. Flash is the exception. You need to download the Flash uninstall tool at this link. Uninstall Flash first and then install the new version.

Thank you.

Will using the uninstall remove both the A FP ActiveX -and- the A FP Plugin? Is it normal to have both?

Hi RAPHelp,

Yes, the uninstall tool will remove both the flash player ActiveX and Plugin.

The Adobe Flash Player ActiveX is needed to view flash animation in Internet Explorer.

The Adobe Flash Player Plugin is needed to view flash animation in Firefox, Safari and Opera.
