We lost power a few days ago and it turned my 16Gb Thumb drive into an 8Gb Thumb Drive with no partition. Is there any way to fix this? If not what are my chances of getting my money back?

EDIT: I just got it last week off of e-bay.

Did you try running chkdsk /r on it? Start/Run...type chkdsk X: /r (where X represents the drive letter of the thumb drive and...there is a space between the : and /).

Did you try reformatting it?

If not what are my chances of getting my money back?

Probably slim to none

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around

I didnt want to format it for the off chance that my data could be saved.

When I did go to format it, I realized that it only allows for an 8Gb partition. (I havnt done it though) Should I do it anyways?

I did speak to the woman I bought it from: She claims that if I send it back to her she will give me a full refund.

I just tried formating it:

"Windows was unable to complete format."

I think it's time to see...if that woman was serious about the money back.
