hello,

windows xp pro
serv pack 3
firefox3.0.12
mozilla 5.0

I am constantly receiving prompts that firefox and yahoo are not responding.

my computer is very often slow to respond.
I will click on a link or an icon, or the start button...etc.... and the computer is extremely slow to respond. not always though.
sometimes click on X to close an open window......it does not close...won't by the right click method either. usually does with control f4.
on occassin when the window closes.....it does it with the slow fading downward motion, and then closes all open windows.

I try to re-open Firefox, and I get a prompt that says firefox is already open. and then , on another try, I will get the prompt that firefox closed unexpectedly and to start new session, or open previous session.

there has already been a massive search for malware and viruses.......I am clean.

do you have any idea what might be causing these problems?

thanks

Hello,

1. From the menu at the top of the Firefox window bar, select File and then select the Exit menu item.
2. Open My Computer or Windows Explorer.
3. Browse to the directory: C:\Program Files\Yahoo!\shared
4. Delete the file npYState.dll. Now that this plugin has been removed, Firefox may stop crashing when using Yahoo.

Removing the plugin will not affect your ability to use Yahoo.
