Hey guys, ran into an issue with my external recently, i've had it for less than a year and its already buggin out on me, normally it boots up with my computer and a white light streams up and down, so one day it didnt show up on my drive list under my computer and i looked @ it and the light was off but it sounded on, so i restart my computer, and nothing, turns on with no light thingy and does not get read. I disconnect the hd and right when i reconnect it, the light turns on for a split second and turns back off...I'm thinking about contacting WD to see if its a common occurrence because i took great care of it and it was one of my most valued possessions.

If it's under warranty provisions...I'd try to run a manufacturer's diagnostic (long/extended test) before I attempted to get an RMA on it from the manufacturer.

I'd also check to see if it works on a different system, different USB port, etc.

I'd also check to see if any/all of my USB ports are working properly.
