I have been unable to Show Hidden Files and welcomed Mr Abrams thorough tutorial applied to Vista.
Problem is his instruction to uncheck "Hide Protected Operating System...(recommended)..."
When accessed there are dire warnings against unchecking: "some files needed for login/out.... possibly render computer inoperable..."
Lacking any tech savvy that was a real put down! Much too apprehensive to risk consequences.

So problem remains, HOW do I SHOW Hidden Files?

Cordially,

There is a tendency with users to delete anything they do not recognize in hopes of fixing a problem or speeding up their computer
The message is there to discourage them from doing so
As long as you are just viewing hidden files, you will be perfectly fine

why won't my laptop work?

Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
Do not send me PMs with problems that should be posted in the forums. Keep it in the forums, so everyone benefits
