Hello all, I thought I'd give you a general idea of what I will be needing help with in the near future. I think I have a keylogger and I was reading up on them in the forum and saw that I'm at risk using utorrent and p2p downloading, so I figure that's where I got my problems, so I am planning on transferring all my p2p files to an external HDD once I get a case for my old desktop HDD and a cable too. my question is should I transfer all the files first and then ask for help in the malware forum or should I leave them on my laptop until I get my problems fixed and then transfer It all. I'm planning on still using the files afterward if they are not viruses but I'm not going to use utorrents anymore. any and all advice is greatly appreciated. oh and if anyone knows exactly what HDD external case for an internal desktop HDD and which cable I need ( like product specific names ) that would be great too. I'm on an acer aspire 5335 vista home basic sp2 mozilla ff 3.0.5 (i think) with intel 585 @ 2.16GHz 2GB of ram 32 bit
and also I was thinking of upgrading my ram so if anyone can give my links or info on that, that would be great too. thanks again

Welcome to BC!
You are asking several separate questions, each of which is somewhat specialised in answer. I suggest you post your RAM and HDD questions in the appropriate Hardware sections where you can get specific advice and information.
Your question about the keylogger would best be asked in the AM I INFECTED? Forum, with your other question about whether to migrate the files first or not (it may depend on the file types involved).
That P2P file-sharing accounts for a large proportion of infections is, alas, very true, and your decision to avoid P2P downloading is a wise one.
Regards,
John

sounds good, so it is ok to have 2 threads open for the same pc?

yeah i was under the assumption that if i had a good security set up i would be fine, but it's not worth losing my identity over!
Regards,
John
