Hey everyone, wasn't too sure if this was the right forum for this, fingers crossed.
I have a small problem with the processes menu in my task manager. I have 'svchost.exe' appearing 9 seperate times using an accumalitive memory usage of approx. 75,000k. As much as system does on its own. Im aware that svchost.exe is neccesary, but 9 times? Is this normal or is something going wrong?
All replies greatly appreciated.

The number of entries for svchost.exe tends to vary with what is installed, what Windows processes are engaged...IMO.

I currently have 8 instances running with an estimated 60-65KB of RAM (I have 4GB installed) being used by these 8.

A very good read(s), hamluis.

It is good to be able to explain things with sufficient detail to remove/answer any questions instead of the sometimes misused "that's just the way it is".

That answer just never works for me

The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates.
