Hello all,

I have a Compaq EVO D310m with a P4 1.8Ghz processor in it. The motherboard is a Compaq 07E8h, with the 845G (Brookdale G) chipset and 256 L2 cache. Is there a faster processor I can put in this machine? Oh, the BIOS version is 68602 v1.08, 5/28/02.

You might want t5o do a little more research then I did but it looks like you are limited to a CPU with a 533MHz front bus.
Yo be a little more specific you would need a Pentiom 4 CPU up to 2.8GHz.
It must have a 512MB cache & 533MHz bus
the making on the CPU would look like,

[ X= up to 2.8GHz]

That is a NORTWOOD core CPU

Do not get a CPU that has a letter designation like, 2.4A or 2.6A

Or any that has more then 512MB cache.

If it were ne to keep down cost I would look for a 2.4\512\533
