Have you considered a USB hub with it's own power supply?

I did a little reading and depending on your hardware (laptop, desktop, motherboard, etc.) it might be possible to keep power to the USBs if the computer is in Standby or some reduced power mode but not shut completely down/off. I read that the occasional motherboard has jumpers to keep power to the USB but I did not pursue that reading since we don't know what kind you have. Sounded a little iffy to me.

But that depends on your hardware details and is strictly a maybe.

To be 100% sure and eliminate the maybes, the suggested self powered USB device or some separate Zune charging device like this http://www.handhelditems.com/zune-dock-tra...ger-p-7097.html
