I am not sure which forum this goes to, so I am going to try am I infected. About two weeks ago I deleted HJT , but only the icon on the desktop. I was looking in the all programs today and there it was so I thought I would run it. It said it was already running. It doesn't come up when I try to open it. It just says that it is already running. I thought if this thing has been running for two weeks then I'll just delete it from the control panel default programs. When I tried this it said that HJT is already running. What should I do to stop it from running, or delete it or see it or something. Can someone help. Never had this problem before.

Did you install it in the C:\Program Files\Trend Micro\HijackThis folder (the default installation location)?

Open Task Manager and confirm that HijackThis.exe is running under the "Processes" tab. If it is, then kill the process (right-click on it and choose End Process) to shut it down before trying to use Add/Remove Programs.
