hello can anyone review my log?

Hello wantmelon,

While we understand your frustration at having to wait, please note that Bleeping Computer deals with several hundred requests for assistance such as yours on a daily basis. As a result, our backlog is quite large, as are other comparable sites that help others with malware issues. Athough our HJT Team members work on hundreds of requests each day, they are all volunteers who work logs when they can and are able to do so. No one is paid by Bleeping Computer for their assistance to our members.

Further, our malware removal staff is comprised of team members with various levels of skill and expertise to deal with thousands of malware variants, some more complex than others. Although we try to take DDS/HJT logs in order (starting with the oldest), it is often the skill level of the particular helper and sometimes the operating system that dictates which logs get selected first. Some infections are more complicated than others and require a higher skill level to remove. Without that skill level attempted removal could result in disastrous results. In other instances, the helper may not be familiar with the operating system that you are using, since they use another. In either case, you wouldn't want someone to assist you who is not familiar with your issue and attempt to fix it, would you?

We ask that once you have posted your log and are waiting, please DO NOT "bump" your thread or make further replies until it has been responded to by a member of the HJT Team. The reason we ask this or do not respond to your requests is because that would remove you from the active queue that Techs and Staff have access to. The malware staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response, there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another HJT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond.

That is why I have made an edit to your last post, instead of a reply. Please do not multiple post here, as that only pushes you further down the queue and causes confusion to the staff.

Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response but your log will be reviewed and answered as soon as possible.

Thank you for understanding.

Regards,

The weatherman

Hello and welcome to Bleeping Computer

We apologize for the delay in responding to your request for help. Here at Bleeping Computer we get overwhelmed at times, and we are trying our best to keep up. Please note that your topic was not intentionally overlooked. Our mission is to help everyone in need, but sometimes it takes just a little longer to get to every request for help. No one is ignored here.

If you have since resolved the original problem you were having, we would appreciate you letting us know. If not please perform the following steps below so we can have a look at the current condition of your machine.

If you have not done so, include a clear description of the problems you're having, along with any steps you may have performed so far.

Upon completing the steps below another staff member will review and take the steps necessary with you to get your machine back in working order clean and free of malware.

If you have already posted a DDS log, please do so again, as your situation may have changed.
Use the 'Add Reply' and add the new log to this thread.

Thanks and again sorry for the delay.

We need to see some information about what is happening in your machine. Please perform the following scan:
  • Download DDS by sUBs from one of the following links. Save it to your desktop.
  • Double click on the DDS icon, allow it to run.
  • A small box will open, with an explaination about the tool. No input is needed, the scan is running.
  • Notepad will open with the results.
  • Follow the instructions that pop up for posting the results.
  • Close the program window, and delete the program from your desktop.
Please note: You may have to disable any script protection running if the scan fails to run. After downloading the tool, disconnect from the internet and disable all antivirus protection. Run the scan, enable your A/V and reconnect to the internet.

I came to BC because hijack.de said there was possible malware , and my computer runs slow sometimes, the startup after the login screen stays black for like 10 seconds then the window shows up, and recently today my computer just shut down out of no where

Hello wantmelon,

Before we Fix anything, I have a question:
  • Are you having any problems with your Antivir AntiVirus program?
  • Does it start at Start-up?
  • Does it update OK?
  • Are you able to perform System Scans with it?
  • Etc..
1. Your Log looks Clean.
  • I ran your HJT Log through HJT.de to see what it was hitting on.
  • That launcher.exe file on your computer is not the Bad one that HJT.de identified.
  • Yours is related to PC Angel recovery program from SoftThinks. :thumbup2:
2. Program Open for Debate
  • I did find one program on your computer that "may offer or exhibit borderline or questionable behavior."
  • You can read about BackWeb in the link above. It comes bundled with legitimate programs, and may be essential to download updates for certain programs. So, if you do remove it it may prevent some programs from updating.
  • Please let me know if you want to Keep/Remove this program.
3. This file concerns me: lvuvc.hs
  • Please go HERE and upload the file so that it can be scanned.
  • Click on Browse at the top of the page. Another window will pop up.
  • Navigate to: c:\windows\system32\drivers\lvuvc.hs
  • Double click on the file: lvuvc.hs. The file path will be loaded into the box next to the Browse button.
  • Now click on Upload
  • A Progress Window will pop-up
  • When the Scan has finished you will be redirected to the Results Page.
  • Please copy and paste the Link to that page in a Reply to this Topic.
4. Run HiJackThis (HJT)

HJT FIX
Here is a Tutorial on using HJT: "HijackThis (HJT) Tutorial & Guide"

  • Right-Click on your HJT icon and choose Run as Administrator
  • Click on Do A System Scan Only
  • Place a checkmark next to the following entries:
    • O2 - BHO: (no name) - {02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670} - (no file)
  • Now close all other windows, EXCEPT the HJT Window, and click on Fix Checked
  • When HJT is finished, please restart your computer.
Please post a New HJT Log.

5. What I need in your next reply:
  • New HJT Log
  • Answer to my question about Antivir
  • Will you be keeping BackWeb?
  • Any problems?

Yes, my antivirus starts up okay and it updates and scans fine.
I want to keep the backweb.
I cannot upload the lvuvc.hs when I do upload it says Error: Cann't find upload file!
Recently my computer start up is very slow I think, not sure if its due to viruses or anything or just the computer, after I login my password the screeen stays blank/black for about a minute, but before it just shows up and no lag or anything.

Hello wantmelon,

1. You have a program on your computer that I would like to advise you against having: GameGuard
  • Although this is Anti-Cheating Software for playing certain on-line games, the program exhibits questionable activity that the User of this program is probably not entirely aware of.
  • GameGuard creates a direct/stable channel between the GameGuard client (you the User) and the GameGuard server. This is for the purpose of sending screen shots of the user's computer to the server. However, the User never knows exactly what information is being sent.
  • More information on GameGuard:
  • So, ultimately the choice is yours. But I would advise getting rid of this program. That's just way too much control of a computer for a Gaming Software to have.
  • If you decide to uninstall this program, please got to Add/Remove Programs:
    • Start --> Control Panel --> Add or Remove Programs
    • Find the entry for GameGuard or nProtect GameGuard (not sure what the entry will say) and click on it.
    • Then click on Remove.
    • When it's finished you can close out the window
2. Run a Scan with MalwareByte's Anti-Malware (MBAM)
  • I see that you have MBAM already on your computer.
  • Double-Click on the MBAM Icon
  • Click on the tab Update
  • Then click on Check For Updates button
  • When MBAM has finished updating, click OK on the window that pops-up.
    • If MBAM has to close to complete the update, then allow it.
  • Now Click on the Scanner tab
  • Put a tick-mark next to Perform Quick Scan
  • Now click the Scan button.
  • If asked to select the drives to scan, leave all the drives selected and click on the Start Scan button.
  • The scan will begin and "Scan in progress" will show at the top. It may take some time to complete so please be patient.
  • When the scan is finished, a message box will say "The scan completed successfully. Click 'Show Results' to display all objects found".
  • Click OK to close the message box and continue with the removal process.
Back at the main Scanner screen:
  • Click on the Show Results button to see a list of any malware that was found.
  • Make sure that everything is checked, and click Remove Selected.
  • When removal is completed, a log report will open in Notepad.
  • The log is automatically saved and can be viewed by clicking the Logs tab in MBAM.
  • Copy and paste the contents of that report in your next reply. Be sure to post the complete log to include the top portion which shows MBAM's database version and your operating system.
  • Exit MBAM when done.
Note: If MBAM encounters a file that is difficult to remove, you will be asked to reboot your computer so MBAM can proceed with the disinfection process. If asked to restart the computer, please do so immediately. Failure to reboot normally (not into safe mode) will prevent MBAM from removing all the malware.

3. We Need to check for Rootkits with RootRepeal
  • Download RootRepeal from the following location and save it to your desktop.
  • Extract RootRepeal.exe from the archive (If you did not use the "Direct Download" mirror).
  • Open Posted Image on your desktop.
  • Click the Posted Image tab.
  • Click the Posted Image button.
  • Check all seven boxes: Posted Image
  • Push Ok
  • Check the box for your main system drive (Usually C:), and press Ok.
  • Allow RootRepeal to run a scan of your system. This may take some time.
  • Once the scan completes, push the Posted Image button. Save the log to your desktop, using a distinctive name, such as RootRepeal.txt. Include this report in your next reply, please.
4. What I need in your next reply:
  • MBAM Results
  • RootRepeal Log
  • Please let me know if you removed GameGuard.
  • Any problems?
Doc.

I tried to scan with RootRepel twice but , both times it freezes my comp and I have to force shut down , I dont know why it freezes.

I can not find GameGuard or nProtect GameGuard in the Add Or Remove progam.

Recently my computer start up is very slow I think, not sure if its due to viruses or anything or just the computer, after I login my password the screeen stays blank/black for about a minute, but before it just shows up instantly.

Malwarebytes said no malicious items were found.

Hello wantmelon,

I tried to scan with RootRepel twice but , both times it freezes my comp and I have to force shut down , I dont know why it freezes.

  • That happens with some computers, not sure why. It happens on my computer too. :thumbup2:

I can not find GameGuard or nProtect GameGuard in the Add Or Remove progam.

  • Perhaps you have removed GameGuard in the past, as the HJT Log shows the file to be missing. Let's make sure:
1. Backup Your Registry with ERUNT
  • Please use the following link and scroll down to ERUNT and download it.

I could not find O23 - Service: nProtect GameGuard Service (npggsvc) - Unknown owner - C:\Windows\system32\GameMon.des.exe (file missing) in the HJT scan
I deleted GameMon.Des but not GameMon.Des.exe , Im not sure if that is the same or not

When I scan with Gmer.exe it goes fine until a minute after the program freezes not my computer, then I try to run it again and scan then the computer goes to the blue screen and says it shut down to prevent information from something
I run Gmer.exe in safe mode the same thing happens, the program stops and I run it again then the blue screen comes up
I shut down ad aware and disabled avira too.

I also went back and changed so I do not see hidden files, if I was not suppose to I am sorry, I will change it back

I have uploaded the Kaspersky results
