Question of the origin of virus, the one that redirects Firefox searches (sends you to shopica.com, couponmountain.com, toseeka.com) - Luckily blocked by Web of Trust. Where did this thing come from ?

How did it screw up my tightly guarded computer and somehow not get zapped from a custom HOSTS file.

And I need industrial strength parental controls, since my kid, a teenager proudly informed me he bypassed my last parental controls (Trend Micro)

The redirect virus is gone, but I need these questions answered.
