You have recently helped me remove a nasty malware problem and after cleaning up residual damage I have one lingering problem, Explorer search keeps finding the same files and never finishes.

I have searches for all files (modified within the last day) and even though I only choose my c: drive my a: floppy periodically lights up and buzzes as well.

Any ideas how to repair the search function in Windows Explorer?

That's a weird one. Unfortunately, I don't know how to fix it. So hopefully someone smarter than I will come along to help.

The only thing I can suggest is to not use Windows Search, considering how much it sucks when it does work. There are many other search apps out there that are hundreds of times better than Windows Search, like:

Google Desktop Search
Everything Search <---I use this one everyday; it rocks!
