I am just wondering if there is a way to have the computer boot up from start to finish without having to click on my name or the password box during startup? i just did a reformat and reinstall of windows xp and before i did it the computer would boot up from the beginning right to end and i didnt have to click anything. it is not a major issue, its just that before, i could start up the computer and walk away and when i came back it was all up and running.

Hi!

You can always disable the welcome screen if you like.
  • Click Start > Settings > Control Panel
  • Click User Accounts
  • Click "Change the way users log on or off"
  • Uncheck the box "Use the Welcome Screen"

I take it you don't have a password, so.... just go to Display (in control panel, or Right-click on Desktop and click Properties,) and click Screen Saver. Once there, look for the checkbox; "On Return, Show Welcome Screen." And un-check it. There. All done.
