FOr the past couple of months my internet (Lan) Keeps resetting ans telling me that I have been disconnected and it does this every 10-15 minutes. I have roadrunner and I called them and they say everything is fine. My grandma runs off the wireless and she does not have the issue. The router is not resetting but only my own connection on this laptop is. PLease help its extremely annoying and it slows me down.

it sounds like either your routers ethernet ports are bad, the network cable is bad, or your network adapter is bad on the laptop. i would try using a different laptop on the same wire connected to the same port on the router and if that doesn't work then its your router or cable. but if it does work then its your network adapter on your laptop. to test the network adapter ping your default gateway (router) with the -t switch and let it run and see if you get any request timed out. this command will ping your router until you stop it using ^C. Hope this helps

it seems as if you computer is trying too many times to renew its ip address on the DCHP client table and failing to get an IP from the server.

what kind of router do you have

Take the router out of the equation and run direct to the modem and lets see what happens.

I had the same problem (but with verizon).

It would turn off and on every 15-2 hours randomly. Since verizon works with a phone wire, we tried switching the phone wire that connects from the base to the modem and WALLA it worked (and hasn't disconnect since!!!! ~5 months).

Hope this helped.

Not sure if you were kidding or not but its doubtful that your iPod touch was infected with a virus from your pc.
