hi people

i'm going to try to shorten this

the first day i bought my computer it restarted but i didn't make much of it; then it started happening while i was playing fallout 3 but since that game had a lot of bugs, i held it responsible for the restart...

after searching a bit on the net i found out how to turn on the BSOD so i could see what was the problem...
i've had these BSOD errors so far:

ati3duag.dll - Address BF1F64DB, base at BF1A000, date stamp 48d99dc6

BAD POOL HEADER

awrtrd.sys (76E FAULT IN NONPAGED AREA

BAD POOL CALLER

win32k.sys

IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL

PFN LIST CORRUPT

fltMgr.sys address BA7E160E base at BA7E000 datestamp 480251da

in the event viewer i see that the crashes are related to:

Dhcp: - The IP address lease 192.168.1.30 for the Network Card with network address 0019665AA9A7 has been denied by the DHCP server 192.168.1.1 (The DHCP Server sent a DHCPNACK message).

Service Control Manager:

1.) The Ad-Watch Registry Kernel Filter service failed to start due to the following error:
The system cannot find the file specified.

2.) The wscsvc service failed to start due to the following error:
The executable program that this service is configured to run in does not implement the service.

3.) Timeout (30000 milliseconds) waiting for the PEVSystemStart service to connect.

4.) The DNS Client service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s).

My configuration is:

windows xp sp3
intel celeron E1400 2.00 ghz, cloaked to 2.66 ghz
2GB RAM
Ati radeon HD 3850
motherboard: 4Core1333-fullHD, chipset: ATI

software:

AVG 8.5.387 - does not find problems
AdAware pro 2009 with AdWatch always on while on the net - does not find problems
Uniblue registry booster
Uniblue speed up my pc
Uniblue driver scanner: - finds three out of date drivers, for unknown device, ATI SMBus and Lexmark 3100 printer...
when i get those driver updates, the program cannot apply them...
Ccleaner
Exterminate it! - does not find problems
Spybot search & destroy
Tune up utilities 2009
SpeedFan - does not find problems
ATF cleaner

i uninstalled ati CCC and have the latest driver

i deleted older java updates and downloaded update 14

i used winsockxpfix but the Dhcp errors did not stop; i just tried the ipconfig/release ipconfig/renew command....

i also use memtest: it found 40 errors first time when i tested all free RAM; when i scan it simultaneously in four parts (of 512MB), one memtest window always freezes, and all the others find errors...

i downloaded combofix but hesitate to use it before being told so... same goes for hijackthis and dds

i came to a conclusion that the problem is probably faulty RAM but being no expert on computers i wanted to get a second/third/... opinion

sorry to bother you all and thanks in advance

p.s. my computer restarts randomly 3 - 4 times a day

Download cpu-z

http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php

Check the memory and spd tabs to see if your memory is overclocked

This and weak power supplies are major causes of premature ram failure?
Chewy

No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try.

What brand of ram was it?

Unless speedfan showed some voltage problems then ram would be my first guess, hopefully not the motherboard
