Hey,
I am unable to Enable my task manager despite trying the conventional methods.
I have also just encountered the familiar "I Dnt Hate Mozilla but use IE .... " error to remove which I need to be able to use the task manager.

Thanks, Below is my log

Hello and welcome to the BleepingComputer.com! :thumbup2:

I will be helping you today. :) If you still need help, please let me know by replying to this thread. :)

Please be advised, that I am still in training.
For your own protection, I may not offer you any advice without it being checked by more experienced helpers first. This can unfortunately lead to slight delays in the responses. However we are trying to help you as quickly as possible.

In the upper right hand corner of the topic you will see a button called Options. If you click on this in the drop-down menu you can choose Track this topic. By doing this and then choosing Immediate E-Mail notification and then clicking on Proceed you will be advised when we respond to your topic and facilitate the cleaning of your machine.

After 5 days if a topic is not replied to we assume it has been abandoned and it is closed.

Please refrain from running tools or applying updates other than those we suggest while we are cleaning up your computer. The reason for this is so we know what is going on with the machine at any time. Some programs can interfere with others and hamper the recovery process.

I will now look through your logs and post back with advice soon,

regards _temp_
If I have been helping you and haven't replied in 2 days, feel free to shoot me a PM! Please don't send help request via PM, unless I am already helping you. Use the forums!

Heya hedaheads,

you have a much bigger problem than that message. You have contracted sality.

Sality is a family of file infecting viruses that spread by infecting exe and scr files. The virus also includes an autorun worm component that allows it to spread to any removable or discoverable drive. In addition, Sality includes a downloader trojan component that installs additional malware via the Web...

About Sality Virus
Win32/Sality Family

If the computer was used for online banking, has credit card information or other sensitive data on it, you should disconnect from the Internet until your system is cleaned. All passwords should be changed immediately to include those used for banking, email, eBay, paypal and online forums. You should consider them to be compromised. You should change each password using a clean computer and not the infected one. If not, an attacker may get the new passwords and transaction information. If using a router, you need to reset it with a strong logon/password so the malware cannot gain control before co

There is no guarantee the infection can be completely removed. In many cases the infected files cannot be deleted and anti-malware scanners cannot disinfect them properly. In some instances an infection may have caused so much damage to your system that it cannot be completely cleaned or repaired. The malware may leave so many remnants behind that security tools cannot find them. Many experts in the security community believe that once infected with this type of malware, the best course of action is to wipe the drive clean, reformat and reinstall the OS. Reinstalling Windows without first wiping the entire hard drive with a repartition and/or format will not remove the infection. The reinstall will only overwrite the Windows files. Any malware on the system will still be there afterwards. Please read:Please let me know if you decide to reformat or not.
