Uhm...I was using TuneUp Utility Suite uptil a while back, and uninstalled it just last month. But...I had made a mistake, coz I was using TuneUp's default boot skin changer, and as it turned out, when I uninstalled the thing I forgot to set the default back, and now...it's gone. I want that blue default welcome screen back, but don't know how...Please help!

You need to restore ntoskrnl.exe in the C:\Windows\System32 folder.

To do this you need to boot from your Windows XP CD and go into Recovery console by pressing R when prompted.
For more information on how to boot into recovery console using XP CD, read Option 2 : http://support.microsoft.com/kb/314058

In the recovery console, rename the present file by the following command :

ren c:\windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe c:\windows\system32\ntoskrnl.bak

Now extract original file from the XP CD using the following command:

expand d:\i386\ntoskrnl.ex_ c:\windows\system32\

After this is done, type exit to reboot.

Here it is assumed that your Windows folder is c:\windows and your CD drive is d:\. You need to change them according to your system.
